Ballast Water Treatment

Ballast water typically contains a variety of biological materials, including plants, animals, viruses and bacteria. There are hundreds of organisms carried in ballast water that cause ecological effects outside their natural environment.

We can provide a full treatment plant of the ballast water.

The treatment plant comprises a primary, secondary & tertiary treatment
steps, including particle separation methods, Multi-grade filter, Activated Carbon filter, Ozonation, etc.

We follow a chemical-free process - with ZERO recurring costs other than nominal electricity.
In some ways, our treatment systems can even over-qualify the parameters set in the D2 Standard of Ballast Water Management Convention!

All required parameters fulfilled by treatment (as mentioned in the D2 Standard of Ballast Water Management Convention) :

  • less than 10 viable organisms per cubic metre which are greater than or equal to 50 micrometres in minimum dimension;
  • less than 10 viable organisms per millilitre which are between 10 micrometres and 50 micrometres in minimum dimension;
  • less than 1 colony-forming unit (cfu) per 100 mililitres of Toxicogenic Vibrio cholerae;
  • less than 250 cfu per 100 millilitres of Escherichia coli
  • less than 100 cfu per 100 milliliters of Intestinal Enterococci.
